Angelina County Enacts Burn Ban as Wildfire Danger Rises

Angelina County is now under a countywide outdoor burn ban. County Judge Keith Wright signed the order this week as drought conditions continue to raise the risk of wildfires across the region.

Angelina joins several other East Texas counties that have put burn bans in place, and a statewide disaster declaration remains in effect as crews respond to grassfires fueled by dry weather.

Residents should hold off on all outdoor burning while the ban is active. Bans are typically reviewed and can be extended by county officials if conditions do not improve. Check with the county before doing any outdoor burning.
