A student at Nacogdoches McMichael Middle School was found Friday with two firearm magazines inside the school building, according to the Nacogdoches ISD Police Department. No gun and no other weapon were recovered, and the campus was not placed on lockdown.
Nacogdoches ISD Police Chief Joel Barton said the incident was addressed immediately. The student will be subject to standard Nacogdoches ISD disciplinary action under district policy. District spokesperson Leslie Linebarger said it was not yet clear whether charges would be filed.
Nacogdoches ISD reminded families that students who see or hear something concerning should report it through the district’s tip channels or by talking to a trusted adult on campus.
