Multiple East Texas fire departments responded Monday evening to a large Angelina County structure fire on Paradice Lane, off Fenley Flat Road. Crews were called out around 6:30 p.m. and worked into the night to keep the flames from spreading in tinder-dry brush.
No injuries were immediately reported. The response comes as Angelina County remains under a 90-day burn ban issued Aug. 13 by County Judge Keith Wright because of elevated fire risk across the region.
Residents are reminded that outdoor burning is prohibited under the current order, and even sparks from equipment, chains dragging on trailers, or discarded cigarettes can start a wildfire in current conditions.
