Public Records & Arrest Data Policy

Applicable law: Texas Public Information Act (Gov. Code Ch. 552) · FCRA · Texas Defamation Law
FCRA Notice: 936Insider.com is NOT a consumer reporting agency as defined by the Fair Credit Reporting Act (15 U.S.C. § 1681 et seq.). Information on this site may not be used for any purpose regulated by the FCRA, including but not limited to: employment screening, tenant screening, credit decisions, or insurance underwriting. Use of our public records content for FCRA-regulated purposes is strictly prohibited.

Presumption of Innocence

All persons named in our arrest records, jail rosters, and crime news coverage are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. An arrest, booking, or charge is an allegation only, not a conviction. Charges may subsequently be reduced, dismissed, or result in an acquittal.

Legal Basis for Publication

TX Gov. Code §552
Under the Texas Public Information Act (Texas Government Code, Chapter 552), jail booking records, inmate rosters, and arrest records are public information. Publishing this information is lawful and consistent with the rights of the press and public to access government records. 936Insider publishes this information in the public interest to keep our community informed.

Sources and Accuracy

All jail, booking, inmate, and arrest information published on 936Insider.com is sourced exclusively from:

  • Official county sheriff’s office websites and public roster pages
  • Verified local news organizations (KTRE, KLTV, Lufkin Daily News, Nacogdoches Daily Sentinel, and others)
  • Official law enforcement press releases

936Insider does not independently generate or verify arrest data beyond its published sources. Errors in official source records will be reflected in our coverage. We link directly to official agency websites wherever possible so readers can verify information at the source.

Records are updated regularly but may not reflect real-time changes. An individual who appears in our coverage may have since been released, had charges dismissed, or had their case resolved. Always verify current status directly with the relevant county sheriff’s office.

Correction Requests

If you believe information published about you or another person on this site is inaccurate, out of date, or involves a case that has been dismissed or resolved in your favor, you may submit a correction request. We review all correction requests in good faith.

Please note: corrections to official county records must be directed to the relevant sheriff’s office or court clerk. We can only update or remove information that we directly publish on our own pages.

To submit a correction request:
Email: news@936insider.com
Subject: “Record Correction Request – [Your Name] – [County]”
Please include supporting documentation (court dismissal order, release papers, etc.). Requests are typically reviewed within 3–5 business days.

Right to Remove — Case Dismissals and Acquittals

936Insider will update or remove arrest-related coverage when provided with documentation of a case dismissal, acquittal, or expungement order. We are committed to not allowing our platform to cause ongoing harm to individuals whose charges were not sustained.

Data Aggregation and Misuse

You may not use the arrest records, jail rosters, or crime news content on this site to build databases, conduct bulk data harvesting, or compile information on individuals for any commercial purpose. You may not use this information to contact, solicit, harass, or target individuals listed in our coverage.

Business & Event Listing Policies

Applicable law: Section 230 CDA · Texas DTPA · FTC Act Section 5

Listing Tiers and Eligibility

936Insider offers the following listing tiers for local businesses:

  • Tier 1 – Free: Available to businesses that sign our Clean Community Pledge. Includes basic listing information. Free forever; upgrading to a paid tier is optional and never automatic.
  • Tier 2 – Standard ($20/month): Full listing with photos, hours, website, and search visibility.
  • Tier 3 – Premium ($40/month): Top-of-category placement, elevated visibility, Google Maps embed, linked events, premium badge, banner ad slot, quarterly social media cross-promotion, and newsletter feature.

Businesses that participate in TxDOT’s Adopt-a-Highway or Sponsor-a-Highway programs may be eligible for discounted or complimentary listing upgrades. Contact us for details.

Free “Clean Business” Listing Program

Businesses that share our commitment to a cleaner community are invited to claim a free listing. We look for businesses that:

  • Take pride in their premises — parking lots, sidewalks, entrances, landscaped frontage, and side lots
  • Make a genuine effort to keep litter from spreading beyond their property
  • Provide enough outdoor trash receptacles to actually be useful
  • Keep up with regular cleanup — daily or more often at busy locations
  • Look out for neighboring spaces too — good neighbors notice
What we love to see: Teams who check and clear trash throughout the day, enough outdoor receptacles in the right places, and staff who take ownership of the space around them.

High-Impact Businesses — Special Recognition

Gas stations, convenience stores, large retailers, and fast food spots naturally see more foot traffic — and with it, more litter. We especially celebrate businesses in these categories that go the extra mile for their community:

  • Teams who monitor and clear trash throughout the day
  • Enough outdoor receptacles to meet the demand
  • Staff who take real ownership of their exterior spaces

Advertising Transparency

Paid placements are clearly labeled. Free listings are never influenced by advertising spend. Clean Business status is earned through community commitment — not by buying an ad.

Accuracy of Listings

Business and event listings are published based on information submitted by the listing owner. 936Insider does not independently verify all submitted information. If you find a listing that contains inaccurate or misleading information, please report it to admin@936insider.com.

Listing owners are solely responsible for keeping their listing information current and accurate. 936Insider reserves the right to remove listings that are found to be materially inaccurate or misleading.

Event Listings

What qualifies as a free Community event

The free Community tier is for events that are free to attend and whose main purpose is community benefit or public participation – not promoting or selling for a business. These are typically hosted by individuals, schools, churches, nonprofits, civic and faith groups, or local government, and are open to the public at no charge.

Examples that qualify for the free tier:

  • Church, school, and nonprofit festivals, benefits, and community nights
  • City and county parades, fairs, and holiday events
  • Library, civic, and volunteer activities
  • Food and blood drives, charity collections, and community service days
  • Town halls, public forums, voter registration drives, and other nonpartisan civic events

Events that should use a paid tier (Basic, Highlight, or Sponsored):

  • Any event that charges admission, an entry fee, or a cover charge
  • Business grand openings, sales, and anniversary or promotional events
  • Any event whose primary purpose is to promote or sell for a business

A few specifics:

  • If an event charges admission – regardless of whether the host is a nonprofit, church, school, or civic group – it uses a paid tier.
  • Vendor and craft markets are reviewed case by case. Community and nonprofit markets can qualify for the free tier; commercial markets use a paid tier.
  • Candidate and campaign events are not accepted. Nonpartisan civic events, such as town halls and voter registration drives, are welcome on the free tier.

All event submissions are reviewed by an admin before publishing. 936 Insider may reclassify, decline, or remove any event listing at its discretion, including moving an event from the free tier to the appropriate paid tier. Listing an event does not constitute an endorsement by 936 Insider. Event details are provided by the submitter; please confirm date, time, and location with the organizer before attending

.

No Endorsement

The presence of a business or event on 936Insider.com does not constitute an endorsement, recommendation, or warranty by 936Insider regarding the quality, legality, or safety of that business or event. Readers are advised to conduct their own due diligence before engaging with any listed business or attending any listed event.

Advertising Policy

Applicable law: FTC Act Section 5 · FTC Endorsement Guidelines · Texas DTPA

Advertising Disclosure

FTC Act §5
936Insider.com may display paid advertisements from local businesses and, in the future, third-party advertising networks (such as Google AdSense). Paid advertisements are clearly distinguished from editorial content. 936Insider does not allow advertisers to influence our editorial coverage of news, arrests, or community events.

Sponsored Content

If we publish sponsored or promoted content, it will be clearly labeled as “Sponsored,” “Advertisement,” or “Paid Promotion.” We will not publish sponsored content that is deceptive or misleading.

Ad-Free Approach to Editorial Content

Our news digest, jail roster, and arrest coverage is published as public interest journalism and is not influenced by advertising relationships. Businesses cannot pay to have negative coverage removed, and advertising revenue does not influence our editorial decisions.

Third-Party Advertisers

When third-party advertising networks are active on this site, those networks may use cookies or similar tracking technologies to serve ads based on your browsing history. You may opt out of interest-based advertising through the Network Advertising Initiative at networkadvertising.org or through your browser settings. 936Insider is not responsible for the content of third-party advertisements.

Payment Processing

PCI DSS
Payments for paid listing tiers are processed through Stripe. 936Insider does not collect, store, or have access to your full credit card number. Stripe maintains PCI DSS compliance for all payment processing. For questions about payment security, refer to stripe.com/security.

News Aggregation

Applicable law: U.S. Copyright Act · DMCA · Fair Use

Our news digest and recent arrests pages aggregate publicly available information from official sources and verified local news organizations. We do not reproduce full articles from third-party sources. We link directly to original source articles so readers can access complete reporting. We respect the intellectual property of local news organizations and do not republish their content without permission.

Editorial Policy

Refund, Billing, and Cancellation Policy

Last updated: June 6, 2026

This policy explains how billing works on 936Insider.com, when refunds are and are not available, and how to cancel a paid listing or subscription. It applies to all paid products on the site. By submitting a paid listing or starting a paid subscription, you agree to the terms below.

936Insider.com is operated by Insider Local LLC, Austin, Texas. All payments are processed by our payment processor (Stripe). We do not store your full card details.

1. What we charge for

936Insider offers three kinds of paid products:

  • Business listing subscriptions (recurring monthly): Free $0, Standard $20 per month, Premium $40 per month
  • Event listings (one-time): Basic $10, Highlight $25, Sponsored $50 per week
  • Yard sale listings are free to post.

Free business listings and Founding Member listings are not charged, so nothing is owed and nothing is refundable for those.

2. Monthly business listing subscriptions

Billing. Standard and Premium listings are billed automatically to the card on file on the same day each month. Your billing cycle starts on the day you first subscribed and renews on that same day each following month. For example, if you subscribe on the 20th, you are billed on the 20th of each month.

Cancel anytime. You can cancel a subscription at any time. When you cancel:

  • Your listing stays active through the end of the current billing period you have already paid for.
  • You are not charged again after that.
  • We do not refund the unused part of the current billing period. You keep the service you paid for until that period ends.

How to cancel. Use the self-service billing portal. Request a secure magic link from the “Manage Billing” page on 936insider.com, open the link sent to your billing email, and cancel there. From the same portal you can update your card, view invoices, and change your billing email. If you cannot access the portal, email admin@936insider.com and we will help.

Changing tiers. If you upgrade or downgrade your subscription (for example Standard to Premium), the change takes effect on your next billing date. We do not prorate or refund the current period when you change tiers.

Price changes. If we change the monthly price of a tier, we will email you in advance at your billing email before the new price applies to your subscription. You can cancel before the change takes effect if you do not want to continue.

Failed payments. If a renewal payment is declined, we will retry the charge. If payment still cannot be collected, your listing is unpublished until payment succeeds. Your listing content is kept for 30 days so you can restore it by updating your payment; after 30 days an unpaid listing may be removed.

3. One-time listings (events and sale listings)

Payment at submission. Event listings and sale listings are paid for when you submit them. Every submission is reviewed by our team before it goes live. Sale listings run until the sale end date you choose and expire automatically after it. A Sponsored event priced per week is paid up front for the number of weeks you book.

If we reject your listing. If we do not approve your listing during review and it never goes live, you receive a full refund of what you paid for that listing. You do not need to ask. We process the refund to your original payment method.

Once your listing is live. After a listing is approved and published, it is not refundable, including any add-on features. This is because the service (running your listing) has been delivered. This applies whether you later take the listing down yourself, cancel it early, or it reaches its scheduled end date.

To take down a live one-time listing. Email admin@936insider.com with the listing name and the email used to submit it, and we will remove it. Taking a live listing down does not generate a refund.

Listings removed for policy violations. If we remove a live listing because it violates our Terms of Use or the Clean Community Pledge, no refund is given. We may remove a listing at our discretion for content that breaks these rules.

4. Billing errors

If you are charged in error, for example a duplicate charge or an incorrect amount, we will refund the error in full once confirmed. Contact admin@936insider.com with the date and amount of the charge. We do not offer general “changed my mind” refunds outside of the rules above, but genuine billing mistakes are always corrected.

5. Free and Founding Member listings

Free business listings and Founding Member listings are provided at no charge. Because no payment is taken, there is nothing to refund. Free listings do not expire. You may upgrade at any time, but are never charged automatically.

6. How to request a refund

For any refund covered by this policy that is not automatic, email admin@936insider.com with:

  • The email address used on the listing or subscription
  • The name of the business, event, or sale listing
  • The date and amount of the payment
  • A short note about the reason

We aim to respond within 2 business days. We issue approved refunds within 10 business days. Refunds go back to your original payment method and may take several more business days to appear, depending on your bank or card issuer.

7. Chargebacks

If you have a billing concern, please contact us first at admin@936insider.com. We respond within 2 business days and will correct any error covered by this policy. Filing a chargeback or payment dispute without contacting us first may result in your listing being removed and future listings being declined while the dispute is open.

8. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it last changed. Changes apply to payments made after the update. For any payment, the version of this policy in effect on the date of that payment governs.

9. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the State of Texas. It does not limit any refund rights you may have under applicable law that cannot be waived.
