Four people are being held at the Sabine County Jail on burglary, drug, and organized crime charges after a home on FM 330 was hit Friday, the Sabine County Sheriff’s Office said. A fifth suspect, Eric Ross Chance, remains at large with active felony warrants.
Sheriff George Griffith identified the four in custody as Heather Nicole Johnston, Oscar Daniel Smith, Dan Henry Nichols, and Willie Earl Duncan. Deputies were called Friday after three vehicles were seen leaving the FM 330 property with suspected stolen goods, according to the sheriff’s office.
Deputies stopped two of the vehicles near FM 330 and State Highway 21 and arrested Smith and Johnston on active felony warrants from earlier cases. Johnston was found with a truckload of suspected stolen property, the office said. Nichols and Duncan were located and arrested later at a home in Milam.
Griffith thanked the person who called in the suspicious activity. Anyone who spots Chance is asked to contact the Sabine County Sheriff’s Office and not approach him.
