School Bell: Montgomery ISD trustees to vote on cell booster, hear academic and tax reports at Oct. 6 special meeting

The Montgomery ISD board of trustees will hold a special public meeting at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at the district's Career and Technical Education center, The DEN, 1520 Lone Star Parkway in Montgomery. Residents of the Montgomery ISD area can attend in person; the posted agenda limits public comment at a special meeting to items on the agenda itself.

Under action items, trustees will consider a nomination to the Montgomery County Appraisal District board and whether to approve the purchase of more than $50,000 to install a cell booster system at The DEN. The Career and Technical Education center was built with proceeds from a $326.9 million bond package Montgomery ISD voters approved in May 2022.

Information-only items on the agenda include a delinquent tax collection report from Linebarger, findings from an intruder detection audit, campus academic success plans, a virtual learning program update, and a progress check on the superintendent's annual goals. The board is also scheduled to go into closed session for personnel, safety and security, and real-property discussions before taking any resulting action in open session and adjourning.
