The Lufkin Police Department and Texas Rangers are investigating the deaths of a mother and son found Friday afternoon at a home in the 900 block of Third Street in Lufkin, according to a release from police spokesperson Jackie Zimmerman.
Zimmerman said officers were called to the home around 1 p.m. and found a 61-year-old Hispanic woman and a 32-year-old Hispanic man dead of apparent gunshot wounds. A man identified as the son and brother of the two victims found the bodies and called police, the release states.
No suspect has been named and no arrest has been announced. Zimmerman asked anyone with information about the deaths to contact the Lufkin Police Department at 903-633-0356.
