The Nacogdoches County tax rate is set to rise under a proposal county commissioners approved Tuesday, with the county jail bond named as the driver behind the increase.
Commissioners Court moved the proposed rate forward during its regular meeting. A public hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. Monday, September 8, at the Commissioners Court in Nacogdoches, where residents can speak before any final vote.
Property owners in Nacogdoches County who want a say on the rate should plan to attend the September 8 hearing or contact their precinct commissioner ahead of it.
