A Polk County fugitive sex offender arrest ended an eight-year search this week. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office took Doyle Cheek into custody on a warrant out of Tarrant County.
Investigators say Cheek had not registered an address with the Texas Sex Offender Registry since 2018. Registry compliance is what allows local agencies to track where offenders live, and a lapse of that length is treated as a felony matter in Texas.
All persons arrested are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
