The Lufkin Animal Services spay and neuter grant totals nearly $150,000 in new funding to provide free and low-cost spay and neuter procedures for dogs and cats across Angelina County.
The grant is expected to reduce shelter intake and cut down on the number of stray and unwanted litters in the 936 area. Local families and rescues will be able to schedule procedures through the City of Lufkin Animal Services program.
Residents interested in scheduling a spay or neuter appointment can contact Lufkin Animal Services directly for eligibility, dates, and appointment availability.
