Bonds and bell curves: Conroe ISD board sets Oct. 6 special meeting on bond program, teacher evaluators

The Conroe ISD board of trustees is set to hold a special public meeting at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at 3205 West Davis St. in Conroe to review the district’s bond program and vote on appraisers for the state teacher evaluation system.

Trustees will hear a presentation on the current bond structure and the long-term program management plan for projects already underway. CISD approved a round of bond-funded construction contracts in May, and the Oct. 6 session is meant to set out how those projects will be managed over the life of the bond.

The board will also vote to approve a slate of appraisers for the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System, the state’s recommended appraisal process. T-TESS is used by districts across Texas to review classroom teachers through regular feedback and self-reflection, and the appraisers approved Monday will carry out that process in Conroe ISD this school year.

The meeting is open to the public and will also be streamed on the district’s YouTube channel.
