High Water: 936 Conditions for Friday, October 2

Weather alert: A National Weather Service Flood Watch is in effect for Walker and Montgomery counties, along with Grimes, Waller, Harris, Fort Bend, Wharton and Jackson counties, until 10 a.m. Friday, Oct. 2.

Burn bans

Burn bans are in effect in eight 936-area counties: Nacogdoches, Walker, Trinity, Houston, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby and Newton. Angelina, Jasper, Montgomery, Polk, Tyler and San Jacinto counties are not under a ban as of Thursday afternoon.

Roads

  • Jasper County: FM 3131 is fully closed for construction, with a marked detour in place.
  • Polk County: US 190 has lane reductions and nighttime closures through Oct. 3.
  • Lane reductions and flagged work zones continue on US 59 in Polk and Newton counties, US 69 and FM 324 in Angelina County, SH 21 and FM 2259 in Newton County, SL 287 in Angelina County, US 287 in Tyler County, US 96 in Sabine County and IH 45 frontage in Walker County.
