The Diboll ISD tax rate increase of 10.24% cleared the school board Monday night, along with the district’s 2026-27 budget, following the bond package voters approved earlier this year.
Trustees signed off on the new rate and budget during their regular meeting, according to the Lufkin Daily News. The increase covers debt service on the voter-approved bond proposals rather than day-to-day operating costs, a distinction district administrators are expected to reinforce as tax bills go out.
Angelina County property owners inside the Diboll ISD boundaries will see the change reflected in their October tax statements. Homeowners with a homestead exemption or over-65 freeze will see different effects depending on their assessed value.
