Interfaith Community Clinic in Conroe marks 30 years of free care for uninsured Montgomery County neighbors

Interfaith Community Clinic in Conroe is marking 30 years of providing healthcare to uninsured residents of Montgomery County in November. The clinic now sees nearly 6,000 patient visits a year, according to information shared with Community Impact.

Started by Dr. Joel Kerschenbaum as South County Community Clinic, it is a project of Interfaith of The Woodlands. Services include comprehensive medical checkups, help managing chronic conditions such as diabetes and high blood pressure, well-woman exams and referrals for screenings and mammograms, and lab and diagnostic services. The clinic also offers behavioral health care and connects patients to hospital screening partnerships.

“Reaching 30 years is an incredible testament to the compassion and generosity of this community,” said Missy Herndon, president and CEO of Interfaith Community Clinic. “For three decades, our volunteers, medical professionals, donors and community partners have come together to ensure our neighbors have access to the care they need.”

Beyond the main clinic at 101 Pine Manor Drive in Conroe, there is a second location in Cut and Shoot, and a partnership with Compassion United that began earlier this year serves people experiencing homelessness at the Miracle City Campus. A 30 Years of Hope, Healing and Health anniversary reception is set for 5 to 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at Amerigo’s Grille, 25250 Grogans Park Drive in The Woodlands. More information is on the clinic website.
