A Lufkin SWAT standoff in the 700 block of Clark Avenue ended early Sunday with the arrest of Jose Angel Garza, according to Lufkin police. Officers were called downtown around 7 p.m. Saturday after reports that a man had fired a gun at people in the street.
SWAT officers responded and took Garza into custody around 12:30 a.m. Sunday. He was booked into the Angelina County Jail on two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
No injuries were reported in connection with the standoff. Police have not released further details about a possible motive.
