A Nacogdoches homicide investigation is underway after officers found 76-year-old Candelario Castaneda-Almaraz shot to death in the doorway of his home on West Seale Street around 5 a.m. Sunday, according to The Daily Sentinel.
The Nacogdoches Police Department Criminal Investigations Division is asking anyone with information to contact Crime Stoppers at 936-560-4636. Tips leading to an arrest are eligible for up to a $1,000 reward.
The killing is the second reported homicide in Nacogdoches during 2026. No arrests have been announced.
