Angelina County Landfill Fees Rise Again October 1 Ahead of $20 Million Expansion

Angelina County landfill fees will climb again October 1, moving residential household waste to $8.80 per cubic yard from $8.00 under a revised schedule commissioners approved unanimously Monday. It is the fourth landfill rate increase since 2023, bringing the cumulative bump to about 33 percent over three years.

County Judge Keith Wright told KTRE the hikes prepare the county for a $20 million landfill expansion. Wright said this is the last increase tied to the current rate study, though further reviews may follow once debt financing on the expansion begins in January 2027.

Residents and haulers should expect the new rate on drop-off tickets starting the first of the month.
