The Polk County Sheriff’s Office has filed additional felony charges against Cody Allen Laviolette,
an Onalaska man already in custody, after another victim came forward on August 17, 2026.
The case began on May 23, 2026, when deputies started investigating the suspicious death of
31-year-old Kelly Taylor Mariah Little, which occurred at Laviolette’s residence. Since that
investigation opened, additional victims have come forward, leading to Laviolette’s arrest
and charges on multiple serious offenses.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, some victims said they felt more comfortable coming forward
after learning Laviolette was still in custody, which eased some of their concerns about their own
safety.
The New Charges
The charges filed August 17 include:
- Assault of a Family or Household Member Impeding Breath or Circulation, a third degree felony
- Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, a second degree felony
- Aggravated Sexual Assault, a first degree felony
- Two counts of Sexual Assault, both second degree felonies
- Bestiality, a state jail felony
- Unlawful Restraint Exposure to Serious Bodily Injury, a third degree felony
Jail Records
Polk County Jail records show Laviolette was booked into the county jail on July 11, 2026. As of
Monday afternoon, the roster listed four charges against him with bonds totaling $1.4 million:
- Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, offense date July 10, $200,000 bond
- Unlawful Restraint Expose to Serious Bodily Injury, offense date July 10, $200,000 bond
- Aggravated Assault Date/Family/House with Weapon SBI, offense date July 16, $500,000 bond
- Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 14 or Disabled Person, offense date July 16, $500,000 bond
The jail roster had not yet been updated to reflect the charges announced Monday. The roster entries
typically lag behind newly filed charges.
Investigators Believe There Could Be More Victims
Investigators say they have received information indicating there may be additional victims who
have not yet come forward. The Sheriff’s Office is encouraging anyone who may have been victimized
to contact them regardless of how long ago the incident occurred.

All charges are accusations. Laviolette is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty
in a court of law.
