Lufkin hosted its first TEDx event this weekend, with eight speakers taking the stage at the Lufkin Middle School auditorium to share ideas they hope will reach far beyond East Texas.
Organizer Jonathan Kegler described bringing the event to his hometown as a longtime dream, built on the belief that ideas born in the 936 can grow to change the world.
TEDx events are independently organized local versions of the national TED talk series, giving community members a platform to share short, focused talks on the topics they care about most.
