Building materials supplier UFP Industries plans to invest more than $6 million in its Walker County facility and add roughly 10 jobs, the Huntsville Item reported this week. The expansion is being pursued under a state economic development program.
UFP Industries manufactures wood and wood-alternative products used in construction, packaging, and outdoor living. The Walker County site is one of the company’s Texas operations.
Local officials pointed to the announcement as another sign of continued industrial growth in the Huntsville area, on top of recent expansions in warehousing and light manufacturing across the I-45 corridor.
