Diboll ISD trustees approved a Diboll ISD tax rate increase of 10.24 percent alongside the district budget this week, following voter approval of the bond proposals on the last ballot. The higher rate is tied to debt service on the bond package that funded new school facilities.
District officials say the increase moves the total rate up as scheduled and matches what was shown to voters during the bond campaign. The maintenance and operations portion of the rate remains close to prior years. The new debt service portion accounts for most of the change.
Homeowners will see the increase reflected on tax bills mailed later this fall. Trustees encouraged parents and property owners with questions to contact the Diboll ISD business office.
